History and nature

We invite you to visit our field where you can connect with the natural environment offered by OCIO Territorial Hotel, walking along its trails, which run from the highest slope to the edge of the sea. At the beginning of the tour we will be able to find a work by Américo Becerra, representative of Chiloé, sculptures that tell us about the communion that Chilote has established with its environment, featuring the figure of the black-necked swans, a species that inhabits the area and that we can find it on the shore of the OCIO beach.

Then we go into our trails where, inspired by nature, they will find the tranquility and disconnection from the city that OCIO invites them to live. Walking through wooden walkways and submerged in a myrtle forest we will be able to find various birds, some of which we will perceive their sound such as the Chucao and Hued-Hued, others we will see them fly over us, such as the Red-headed or Black-headed Jotes, with a bit of luck we will also be able to see the Diucón, the witch´s bird that with its red eyes is said to transmit the messages we need to hear. Throughout the tour we are enveloped by the sound of the slopes that let their water run until it reaches the edge of the sea, from the height you can see the landscapes of the Fjord and the city of Castro, which rises from the sea with its unique stilt houses. Then we will go to the farm sector, to visit our open-air "Chilote Museum", ending our tour at the viewpoint that shows us our path that leads to the edge of the sea.
